Dear all,
Please find here the main features of Mbt_macro_blue template
- Dynamic Flash Header:
  1. Unlimited header images rotation - 7 header images by default (support jpg images + swf)
  2. Site name, date, page title and Welcome + "username" automatically displayed in Flash header
  3. The swf file is only 1Kb
I hope with this dynamic header, with Mambo, people can have a better presentation
- Fully functioned with most mambo modules: top, right, left, user1, user2 user4. User3 (the horizontal) and banner module will be updated in the next release on 15 of May if requested)
- Well auto organized when unpublished/publish any modules
- Color theme can be changed with small modification of 2 background images or css
- Carefully in css styling with individual style for each module (user1, 2 back icon, next-prev icon, written by, created date....)
- Well tested with IE Firefox Mozila and Nescape
More improvements will be made if being chosen for the Mambo 453 such as:
- You can assign specific flash header for each menu/section
- Welcome text/date/site name can be turn on/off
- More color scheme will be supplied with the template

I am not advertising for my template, just want give you the information for the purpose of voting.

Sincerely,
Dinh

Exclamation higher standards necessary

I don't think that any of these templates are ready to be released with the new version of Mambo. This batch of submissions are plagued with slow image load times, crazy scroll issues, poor design, etc. I didn't even check the code because the execution is not there.

Please reconsider extending the deadline of this contest until the next release. I submit that there needs to be a higher standard for the templates that are to be included by default with Mambo.

I think the jamadama template is OK. Probably because I created it

Another thing: posts like "ftumind" is writing should be deleted - the creators should not be allowed to post here, the templates should talk for themselves!

Allthough I agree with "gsbe" - some more really good templates is needed, I don't really think that my template is better than the Rhuk Solarflare..

You should be consistent

BTW, I should think it will be better if there is a small discription for each submitted templates

Also, I agree that the contest should be extended to receive more templates.

Wow, I was very dissapointed by the poor quality of the templates. Only PS_lightwave is a serious candidate.

Default Templates suck

Yes i appreciate the fact that i have not submitted any templates and so in theory i should not have a right to have a pop at someone else. (well i have submitted templates to mambohut for the gallery)

But come on. Really. [Edited by Admin - inappropriate language]. Even if you are a novice designer you should be able to appreciate that you would need to produce a cross platform, intelligent css, good looking, easily modified to suit other peoples purposes, uses lots of the placements (one of the designs didn't even have the snippet to include the module that mambohut uses for the template switching module!) good looking template. It doesn't need to be massively ingenious!

I have a lot of work on so i cant submit a template at the mo, however looking at the entries if we were given another 2 weeks i would do!

Shocking

we are all waiting...

Sorry, but that discussion is a.) useless and b.) ridiculus.

a.) There were two weeks to build a template. There were many technical questions in this contest thread on mamboserver where none of the developpers answered. For example pixelsoul misunderstood the "-3" parameter for loading modules and now his template is destroyed. Could have happen to me too, but luckily I tested on a CVS. But that the output of this parameter changes from one version to another is strange.

b.) Itīs not that difficult to asperse others without participating at the contest. I agree, not every template is first choice, but if everybody can participate, every entry has to be published. Thatīs democracy usally.

I recognized this contest a week ago and two days ago I got the CVS. It took a lot blood sweat and tears (sorry for that ) to finish the template in time. And now everything I hear is that everthing is xxxx. Thatīs not my interpretation of a community, sorry guys. So vote or let it be. Finally the community, every user can decide if he or she will use one of the preinstalled templates or not. If there is no feedback and the winner of this contest will never be seen again in an installation, remove it in 4.5.4. So what?!

Just my two bits.
