At this point most of the differences are in performance. I would suggest looking at the different road maps to figure out which project is best suited for you. It's really going to depend on what you need.

Default Joomla Web Hosting

We used to include Mambo auto-installs with our plans, but had more requests for Joomla (by far). We also felt good about the direction Joomla was taking so we added it and have had very positive feedback from clients.

It's obvious still a matter of personal preference and business/site needs.

A simple answer would be --- Joomla is the improved version of Mambo.

Hi! You are right Alex I prefer this one as well and by the way have never had some problems with it! But I guess it is up to you what to choose cause it depens only on what you gonna use it for.

I have heard many positive things about Joomla.
Nevertheless, I suggest you to do a Google search and carry out more information about both Mambo and Joomla!
